Meet Anna MacEachern
Anna is a fully qualified music therapist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and a member of the British Association of Music Therapy (BAMT).
Anna earned her Bachelors of Music with Honours at the University of Glasgow in 2023, she then went on to studying her Masters of Science in Music Therapy at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, graduating with distinction in 2025.
Anna followed her ambition of becoming a music therapist after seeing the power of music has with connecting people following her late Granda's Alzheimer's diagnosis.
Anna has spent time working with elderly adults with varring diagnosis' of dementia, as well as with school aged children with a variety of needs.
Anna has set up her independent music therapy service Mac Music Therapy Scotland (MMTS), to be able to offer music therapy across different areas in central Scotland.
Anna and her relatives all lived across rural areas in Scotland, and has seen the barriers that can create for accessing services. Therefore, she hopes that offering her own independent music therapy service, adopting a flexible approach to music therapy services, will allow everyone to have the opertunity to access music therapy in a way that is comfortable to them.
Anna is able to offer music therapy sessions in an environment that is accessible to the individuals, traveling to you where suitable.
Anna is a singer, and plays violin and ukulele, but she involves a number of instruments across in her music therapy sessions.
